Edinburgh Fringe 2019

During the Edinburgh Fringe there will be Free Fringe Shows in Captain’s Bar at 10.30am and 12noon.

Gilly Hewitt is appearing on 16th, 20th, 22nd and 24th August accompanied by Mike Slessor on fiddle. Two of the shows will feature songs of Robert Burns and two will be about songs from Scottish songwriters. More information to follow.

Captain’s Bar sessions Summer 2018

Gilly hosts afternoon sessions in the Captain’s Bar usually on 4th Saturday of the month and also some Tuesdays. These are open sessions that anyone can come along to and join in with a song or tunes, or listen and have a drink. She will be hosting sessions in July on 3rd, 24th, 28th and 31st. In August she will be hosting sessions on 14th, 21st and 28th. Tuesday sessions begin at 3pm and Saturday sessions begin at 3.30pm. She will also be hosting on Saturday 1st September.

Also on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th August she is presenting ‘An hour of Robert Burns’ between 1pm and 2pm in the Captain’s Bar as part of the Edinburgh Fringe.

Festival Folk at The Oak

As part of the Festival Folk at The Oak Gilly Hewitt is giving a concert on Saturday 25th August 2018 beginning at 8.30pm. Mike Slessor is accompanying on fiddle and Ian Hewitt on percussion and guitar.

Captain’s Bar Tuesday Sessions


Gilly will be hosting Tuesday afternoon sessions in the Captain’s Bar between 3pm and 6pm from 25th April until 6th June 2017. Come along and sing, play, listen or drink.
